Kit’s Story: “Where are you going, baby?”

I was walking through Museumplein to the train station and a group of guys was walking in the opposite direction, towards me. I tried not to make eye contact but sometimes it seems as if they can tell I am forcing myself to look away. As they past, one guy said something to me in Dutch. I didn’t understand so I kept walking. He kept repeating himself and followed me. I turned around and said I don’t speak Dutch. So he said: “I was asking where you are going baby”. I didn’t answer, turned around and put in my headphones. I could hear him and his friends laughing in the background. They may have said more but I turned up the volume.
